The aircraft, Ajeet, is a single-seater interceptor with a secondary ground-attack role. It was used by Air Force from 1975 to 1991. Ajeet was later shifted to Minsk Square, Bangalore where it was stationed for nearly 20 years.
But owing to the construction of Metro train route this has been shifted out of this place to HAL Heritage Museum. The image above no longer is the common sight at this place.
Wow! This is a very different feature on your space! Loved it!
ReplyDeleteIt seems to have been a good decision to shift the air craft to a museum.
ReplyDeletenot many people will be able to see if kept inside a museum... better display it in some other circle...
ReplyDeleteVery interesting! It looks as if would like to fly:)
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week!
Alas ! The Aircraft has departed Minsk square and Minsk Square itself is dead !
ReplyDeleteWhy is that place called Minsk Square?
ReplyDeleteA very sleek machine it is indeed.;)
xo
Interesting! first i thought it was a ideal craft.
ReplyDeletenice information!
ReplyDeleteThat is a sleek beauty of an aircraft.
ReplyDeleteGreat capture, Rajesh! Things do change, don't they? Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
Very interesting to get a glimpse into your world as it used to be, Rajesh.
ReplyDeleteI hope the Metro construction doesn't affect Bangalore's reputation as the Garden City.

E' sempre molto triste vedere foto di aerei !
ReplyDeleteBuona giornata :)
that is one cool looking aircraft. pretty sleek.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see all weapons in a museum in a world were war is studied only in history books and no longer real.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the plane.
ReplyDeleteI wondered where it had gone.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful place.
ReplyDeleteThat's a large aircraft for a single seat! Nice shot!
ReplyDeleteNice to have the aircraft stationed there to remind people of its history. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteInteresting facts and a great shot!
ReplyDeleteThis is a very sleek, good-looking plane. It's too bad it had to be moved to a different site.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame they have had to move this plane. Must have been quite a sight!

ReplyDeleteI saw Ajeet for the first time when I went for a defense motivation camp from Sainik School, Trivandrum. Beautiful aircraft, brought me back the memories of that trip back in the 80s. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteUnni

ReplyDeleteFantastic display of the aircraft! Hopefully it will still be enjoyed by many people at its new site in the museum.
ReplyDeleteCool picture!
ReplyDeleteI like how the shadow appears behind the aircraft - it almost seems like the exhaust from the engines as the plane makes a fast takeoff. Nice!
ReplyDeletelove planes and this shadow is great. lynda

I'm sure many people, especially the children, miss seeing that jet perched in the square, looking as if it is about to take off any minute.

That's a majestic position to show off the plane... although I'm not such a fan of military displays. But it should certainly be kept for the sake of posterity.
ReplyDeletethis remind me of the air here in my work place royal air base
ReplyDeleteThanks to all. It will be seen very less, as very few people go to museum. I hope it will come back to the square again.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful... nicely captured!
ReplyDeleteIt will definitely be a good addition to the museum!
Yes, it was a good addition to museum. But, earlier it charmed the city in public view.
