Bhaskaresvara Temple in Bhubaneswar is located just 1 km away from another famous temple Rajarani Temple. It was built in the 12th century during reign of Ganga Dynasty rulers. This temple was built using sandstone.
The temple is facing towards west and Lord Shiva is the deity here. The temple is square in plan and and is built on a raised platform.
The temple architecture follows Kalinga Style construction and is decorated with beautiful architectural motifs. The roof of the temple is in the form multi-layered pyramid.
In all the 3 directions excluding the front on the external wall of the temple there are beautiful sculptures in a window like niche.
