Those steps look very steep in the first photo. Amazing attention to decorative detail.
If you attend the dance festival, please share photos with us. This temple is amazing. In a way it reminds me of some of the structures I saw in Mexico and Belize. So much detail. genie
The sun temple looks like something out of Egypt. How I'd like to explore the architecture of it.
This is a very unusual temple, i'm guessing it must be close to the ocean somewhere, fun place to hangout afterwards :)
Great shots of the temple and the beach. Looks like everyone is having a wonderful time!
Nice captures, nice post.
And after visiting the temple, a dip in the sea!
Hello Rajesh
Oh we are so lucky to have you showing us the beautiful old parts of India.
Konark has such history which I appreciate as my country is so young in comparison.
I googled the Sun Temple and learnt it was built in the 13th century - inspiring!
I'm visiting from Mary's Mosaic Monday.

Beautiful photos!

Very nice. The second photo combining all the views is too good...
I visited konark during my masters as part of a live project field trip..and the most funniest memories of konark temple visit was one of the girls in our group (who had been there before) taking us on guided tour of all the sensuous sculptures..pointing at each and every one..we were laughing like hell!!!

Those are amazing temples, but I love the beach best since I live so far from one.
All that stone work - amazing. The steps look very steep. It looks like a fine day for the beach, too.

Refreshing swim.
Beautiful shots. I had visited the place many years ago, and still recall its beauty.
Amazing place, both inside and outside. Looks the perfect place for a day trip with the promise of a dip in the ocean.
What an amazing building! I can imagine it would be quite a fun festival.
I love seeing these ancient structures. They are so old and historic.
Proud, prestigious history. I had heard they had closed down the temple for archaeological work and repair. Have they now opened it for public?
Great temple!
Hi Vanderlust, it is not easy to repair this masterpiece. There was a magnet in the ceiling of the temple which held the temple intact. British removed the magnet from the temple as their ships were drawn towards it.
Beautiful..love the family shot..great.. :-)
Beautiful temple and it has beautiful story also on how it was built :)
btw i love the drive from konark to puri :) and if possible do visit ramchandi beach
Lovely that you have shared this, Rajesh.
It's a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage site in Odisha, India.
How I wish we could restore such architecture to their previous glory...
