Puri is a town in the state of Orissa. It is situated on the Bay of Bengal, 60 kms south of the state capital Bhubaneswar. The city is most famous for the Jagannath Temple and sandy beaches.
This ancient city is repository of art and architecture of India with testaments dating back to 3rd century B.C.
The best mode of travel across the city to see the tourist places here are cycle or auto rickshaws. The important sites that I had visited here are:

Wonderful photos and what a lovely time you seem to be having ~ ^_^
Excellent photos! The one temple roof looks almost like a basket weave.

Rajesh, wonderful photos of the temples. You created great mosaics. Have a happy week!
Hello Rajesh
What a beautiful blog!
I've come from Mary's Mosaic Monday and I'm enjoying looking through your posts - wonderful photography!
My son has travelled through India and Nepal for several months, he loves everything about your country and people.
I am in New Zealand and I hope you will come and see me one day too!

Beautiful temple and an impressive list of places to go. I imagine that your boys enjoyed the beaches more than the rest of the sightseeing! When they grow up they will want to come back to appreciate the history and beauty ;>)
Short and sweet!
Thanks for taking us to Puri. :)
Lovely...
Nice captures!

A visit to India is definitely on my To Do list.
Lovely photos.
Breathtakingly beautiful architecture in Puri, great photos!
What great fun...but what is an auto rickshaw? I see your family got a chance to play in the water, too. I'm wondering how long it took to visit all of these places?
We too have sea - but no temples!
Beautiful place and I love the water/beach! Great shots for the day, Rajesh, as always!!
beach town. i hope you show more of the beach area next time.
The bicycle rickshaw must be a great way to see the sites.
I am sure the beaches are loved by the children. Great photos, Rajesh!
Such an interesting post seeing those very different temple roofs.
I think my favorite photo here is the beach, I wish I could spend time on a beach with the waves rolling in.
Love those layered roofs over the arches.
Lovely places to visit .
the temple looks gorgeous and the beach is a perfect way to cool off during summer days.
Great tour!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

Many interesting and colorful scenes! PERFECT! Kate, ABC Team
Yet another gorgeous place full of interest.
I was in Puri recently and it's a fascinating place to say the least... did you notice the theatre close to the temple that plays dirty movies at night?

What a neat place
I am glad you all liked this place. We shall explore this place in some more detail.
Beautiful images of the temple and the ocean. Looks like another Indian city that is very rich in culture and colors.
I have been to Puri few times and like the place a lot. Thanks for the snaps.
Lovely photos..it is one of my favourite places to spend the vacations...
Beautiful captures, so much of our history and heritage there!
Could u suggest economical hotel in Bhubneshwar & Puri ?
The beach is lovely. There are many other secluded beaches nearby. For the religious minded people, the Char dham yatra starts from Puri, then Rameshwaram, followed by Dwarka and ending at Badrinath.
