The new Indian rupee currency sign is designed by D. Udaya Kumar, and his design was selected from a competition conducted by Indian Government among Indian residents.
The new sign is a combination of the Devanagari letter "र" and the Latin capital letter "R" without its vertical bar. The parallel lines at the top are said to make an allusion to the tricolor Indian flag.
But to my surprise I found this sign on the window of an ancient temple.
This temple is Siddeshwar Temple at Bhubaneshwar.

Maybe Mr Kumar had already noticed the design on the temple,
ReplyDeleteperhaps in his sub- conscious thoughts, then used it for his entry, in the competition?
just an observation!
