Usgalimal Rock Engravings

The prehistoric site Usgalimal in South Goa is knwn for rock engravings.These engravings spread over an area of 500 sqm belong to the Upper Paleolithic or Mesolithic eras. There are more than 100 distinct drawings carved on laterite stones.

Sunbird at Karanji Lake, Mysore

Karanji Lake at Mysore is a beautiful lake spread over a area of 55 hectares with many trees all around even in the lake.  

One such beautiful bird seen here is Purple-rumped Sunbird. It is a tiny bird with dark maroon upper-side with a blue-green crown. The underparts are whitish with dark throat, maroon breast.

They mainly feed on nectar but sometimes take insects.
