Mysore, the Heritage City

Mysore (State: Karnataka), is located at a distance of 140 kms from Bangalore. For many centuries the city was under the control of Wodeyar Dynasty.

Mysore is well known for the festivities that take place during the period of Dasara. It is celebrated for 10 days every year and was introduced for the first time by King Raja Wodeyar I in 1610.

The city is known for its heritage buildings, palaces which are all around the city. The city can be rightly called "The Heritage City".

These are terrific captures...may check out the zoo and the art gallery next time...loved the temple at Srigapattinam...pity we can't take pictures of the wall carvings inside.

i went to mysore in 2005 for a day trip from bangalore and just loved it!!

the places i visited were chamundi hills, zoo ans mysore palace...would love to visit here again and see more of the places you have listed down!!
