Shri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, Mysore

Established in 1892, the Mysore Zoo at Mysore it is one of the oldest and most popular zoos in India. It is home to a wide range of wild species. The zoo is spread across 45 acres now and it is founded by Maharaja Chamarajendra Wodeyar. Officially the zoo is known as Shri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, named after the founder of the zoo.

This is one of the well maintained place, where animals are well taken care of. This is a nice place for the kids to get know about the various wild species. The trip through the zoo consumes more than half a day.

  6. Zoos are great when they give enough space to the animals and these days they do unlike in the past! I always had the same pleasure at taking the children to the zoo as they make you feel as a child yourself again!

  16. I am in two minds about zoos. They can be very good in conserving species and making people aware of the natural world, however, if the animals are not taken care of properly they can be very sad places.
I am glad to hear that this zoo is well-maintained and the animals are looked after.
    Nice collage!

  26. Looking at the official name, I can see why they call it the "Mysore Zoo"! ;-)

Looks good. Lots of room for the animals to feel like they're in their natural habitat. Reminds me a lot of the Miami Zoo.

    Nice collage!
