What is Real Beauty?

What does beauty means to you? Is there anything real and unreal about the beauty? Beauty means different things to everyone. There is no one common agreed answer for this.

Is it the innocence on the face of young kids playing in a old temple premises?

Is is the scenic winding route in the countryside?

Is it the famous sculpture of lady looking into the mirror in the temple of the Belur?

Is it this flower?

Is it the scenic view of the Kapu beach with the palm trees on its shore?

To me it is innocent smile on the face of the kids who are engrossed in their own world? This beauty one can only seen in the kids who are still untempered by this cunning ways of this World.

What about you?

Oh, I loved this post.;) Yes indeed, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone can see something stunning in different objects or subjects, whether it is humans, animals, nature or man made structures.
To me personally beauty is so versatile and I can see beauty every single day in something - or someone.
Have a BEAUTIFUL Monday.;))

I am often repelled by some things that other people believe are beautiful. But I am grateful that, as humans, we have the ability to perceive and enjoy beauty, no matter how we understand it.

Wonderful post Rajesh! We travel and nature bloggers do tend to throw the word "beautiful" around a lot -- using it to comment on great photography -- all the things you mention. Although the blogs I read seldom feature the one (as in your top photograph) that DOES represent true beauty. I completely agree with you.

But having a less than stellar vocabulary, lacking another word I will probably forget and still use the word "beautiful" to describe your travel and nature posts. But I do know the difference ;>)

Thank you for sharing your thoughts -- I appreciate this post very much.

Nice post.

I love your scenic winding route. But I would have to say the most beautiful are my own kids, so looking at those two beauties at the top of your post remind me of my own three.

A marvelous post for the day, Rajesh, and such wise words! I do agree with you regarding the innocent faces! Such a sad world we live in these days and there's an even greater need to find and protect the beauty, then innocence and the children! Hope your week goes well!

You have given us something interesting to ponder. The innocence of the very young is indeed a beautiful state of mind. Seeing the world with fresh eyes reveals the wonder of it all.

Very interesting question you ask :)
Beauty for me is everything in nature as it appeares. That goes for people too. I find beauty in the natural and not the manipulated.
I find kids very interesting and they are cute - the beauty is in an old wrinkled face.
Have a good day :)

Beauty to me is to sit infront of the window during a heavy rain and watch the rain making noises on my window. Beauty to me is also taking close up photos of purple flowers. :) Purple kind of attract me.

Nature and small children have something in common, innocence. I see real beauty both in nature and the smiles of young children though the latter is special to me as they have something most of adults left behind far away.

Yes, children emanate pure innocence and simple beauty, such a delight to behold!

Photography has opened my eyes to beauty I didn't see before. All of your photos are beautiful, and it's wonderful that different ones resonate with different people, or even the same people at different times.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And what is considered beautiful is very different among different peoples and is subject to change.

There is a certain innocent beauty in children, but they can also be scheming, selfish little rascals and not so beautiful at times! I know, I've had three of my own! :-)

Each has it's own beauty. Some may touch us more than others. And different people would choose different ones that speak to them more.

"real beauty" is not about being "real" or not. It is just a word for saying it is more beautiful then the other beautiful stuff. :)

Beautiful and wonderful images. Lovely. For me, beauty is whatever transmitting primarily happiness, there is also beauty in sadness, as in the poems can also be in the sad images. But for me the greatest beauty is when I see the faces of happy children, and especially my children. Then the beauty is everywhere, you just have to look at and discover. Greetings.

The beauty one sees is the mirror of one's soul. It matters not what you find beautiful, it matters that you find it. And like so many things in human experience, beauty is not all or nothing, there are shades, lovely shades... And today you've posted an array of shades of beauty. Thoughtful post, Rajesh.

I too agree, a really beauty lies at innocent. I would say the eyes are more beautiful through which we admire the beauties.
