In Bhitarkanika National Park we hired a boat and cruised in the lake. Event it is off season we wanted to try our luck to spot some birds.
People have spotted here 8 varieties of kingfisher. And all of a sudden we spotted one of them flying across the lake and finally it sat on a far of tree.
Apart form kingfisher one can also get to see other birds like wood pecker, horn-bill, bar headed geese, pintail, white bellied sea eagle, tern, sea gull, waders and many more.

Nice clicks!
So many species and variations in one place. Like an avian paradise.
8 species of kingfisher. That's not fair Rajesh, here in the UK just one.
Love the kingfisher ~ lovely photo ~ Happy Weekend to you ~ carol
Beautiful kingfisher... I canNOT get a picture of one no matter how I try. Good for you.
kingfishers are such neat birds!
That sounds like a very interesting place, and well done with the Kingfisher.
All the best, Gordon.
Nice capture :)
A great shot of the kingfisher!
Wow....pretty image. I would love having a boat trip and guide to take us around so we could spot all the birds you mention.

Nice shots, greeting from Belgium
One of my favorite birds. Kingfishers have a lot of personality. Thanks for the info from your area.
I think we have only one variety of kingfisher here north of Toronto so I am feeling a tad envious of the variety you can see!
You're so lucky to have 8 different kingfishers. They're interesting birds.
These are great captures!
