Kurudumale, the Meeting Hill

Kurudumale is a small village near Mulbagal town. This offbeat place can be reached while traveling from Bangalore to Kolar. It was originally known by the name Koodumalai meaning 'Meeting Hill'. It is called so because it was believed to be meeting place of Gods for the purpose of recreation.

It is known for the ancient temples:

Other place close by is Mulubagal famous for Anjaneya Temple.

Another place close by Ramalingeshwar Temple Complex at Avani.

Do you make a count of how many temples you have visited in India so far?

Very impressive Gopuram, Rajesh!
The surrounding hills make the Temple all the more special.
Very nice presentation and commentary, with pertinent details including the meaning of 'koodu' in 'Koodumalai'!
Have a Happy Week!
Peace :)

Very nice series of photos. I looked up the route from city to city on the map. I see it is equally distant on two sides from the ocean(s). I'm guessing it is very dry and hot around there.
