Birds of Jakkur Lake - 6, Bangalore

At Jakkur Lake in north Bangalore you can come across many colourful birds.  The egret which was flying over the lake finally could find its target.

It caught a fish and flew back to its destination.

The egret makes catching a fish look very easy.

Wow, perfect timing to get the first shot! How much time did you have to spend at the lake to get that one picture? :-) I love its golden feet, too. As a child that was one of the birds I most wanted to see, I loved the description in my grandmother's bird book that they had "golden slippers." How magical does that sound?

Thanks for sharing, Jodi
