Bekal Fort in Pallikere covers an area of 40 acres and one of the biggest fort in the Kerala state.
There are very few structures inside the 17th century fort that are intact and one of them is Magazine Room.
It is used to store weapons and ammunition. This fort is under the management of the Archaeological Survey of India. There is no entry for the general public into the magazine room and remains closed all time.

Superb capture and view on the room! Great preservation despite being close to sea
We have visited quite a few historical forts in our country (not that old of course) and I enjoy learning the history connected with them. But I wish there were not so many wars.
How very lovely.
Wishing you a Happy New Year from An Arkie's Musings. I have enjoyed reading your blog this past year.
