This building definitely deserves more than one picture to be posted.... The entrance with high plinth is awesome .. and not to mention that this is one of the favourite structure of our movie industry.
This is an imposing building, constructed in a style sometimes described as 'Neo-Dravidian', and incorporates elements of Indo-Saracenic, Rajasthani Jharokha and Dravidian styles.
Shri Kengal Hanumanthaiah, Chief Minister of Mysore from 1951 to 1956, is credited with the conception of the Vidhana Soudha. The majority of the unskilled labour used were prisoners, and they were set free when the construction was completed.
Hi Rajesh! Sorry for the long absence! But don’t you think it was a great vacation; some very busy weeks and just a few days off... ;) It must be huge, to be larger than the Secretariat in Delhi... Lovely picture!
Meanwhile Blogtrotter is still turning around Iceland. Enjoy and have a fabulous weekend!
I am always impressed with the wonderfully aesthetic and artistic design of the buildings. There have been great artisans and still are in your country.
