Teli Ka Mandir, Gwalior
This is the most impressive of all the temples in the Gwalior fort of Gwaior. This temple dates back to the 9th century, and is constructed by the Pratihar Kings.
front portion This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Inside the fort this is one of the tallest structure and its height is 100ft. This temple architecture is a combination of the Dravidian (from South India) and the Indo-Aryan (North Indian). The roof is typically Dravidian but the sculptures and embellishing inside are Indo Aryan in nature.

You might think this is a strange thing to say, but the first picture looks almost like it is made of lego pieces. The stone layers are so delicate and thin, it is amazing.
I can not believe it is that large. Imagine the work it must have taken to build this.
Even with today's technology, no one builds stunning structures like these anymore.

Always an interesting visit to your blog space to see what fabulous places you will be sharing with us. The palaces, have such beautiful buildings.
Give me the splendour of India any time. The art work that has gone into this temple is breath taking. Unimaginable to build something like that today; and we like to think we are so sophisticated! Yesterday I saw a film about those special horses, their ears come together at the top like parrots, amazing. I think it was in Rahjistan. It was one of the most beautiful Documentaries.
Your pictures are great, I like how the sun illuminates the upper part of this splendid temple.
