Lalbagh Gardens - Bonsai, Bangalore

Inside the Lalbagh Gardens at Bangalore (State: Karnataka) the Bonsai Park is spread across 2.5 acres.

The various Bonsai trees are kept on the benches arranged in a particular format making it convenient for public.

There are around 500 bonsai plants aging from 5 to 35 years. Trees such as Jackfruit, Tamarind, Banyan tree etc., here are grown in pots in the miniature form.

The Bonsai Park is entered through the the 40-foot-high pagoda gate.
Bonsai Park was opened for public from the first half of the year 2011.

This makes me smile remembering the miniature bonsai tree I gave my grandmother one year. It was very special to her, but she couldn't keep it going long. Still she kept the garden elements...a small bench and a miniature temple. So much of interest in your corner!

That first shot is a great one of the Bonsai trees. It is interesting ti read that you all grow banyans in containers. In Florida where I grew up there were huge! I have never heard of a miniature one...so interesting. I always learn something new when I visit your blog :-)

Love the gate, love the garden. I appreciate bonsai much more since I learned from a friend who began growing - if that's the right term - them a few years back.

Rajesh, thank you for these lovely pictures. Bonzai are so beautiful, carefully tended and "crafted," but completely of Nature and of the earth. If you want to see my ABC, it's about American politics:
