Temples all over India represent the rich cultural heritage. The ancient temples are richly carved and they behold ones attention for their craftsmanship.
One such little known temple is in Padavali (State: Madhya Pradesh). This temple located inside a small fort is a architectural gem. This externally simple looking temple is a treasure trove from inside. The carvings are examples of master craftsmanship.
These numerous tiny carvings are in the ceiling or on the walls close to the ceiling. These carvings depict stories of Lord Vishnu.
There is another temple close by at Mitavali (State: Madhya Pradesh) with totally different style of architecture from the above. This circular temple is a Lord Shiva temple and very unique in shape.
Here the carved circular double pillars are noteworthy.

Wow - absolutely stunning!
Temples in India are very unique and different from Japanese ones which have mural paintings on the ceilings or walls. These stone carvings are exquisite!!
Have a great day!
I always love looking at all these carvings. They are so well crafted and very beautiful. Wondered how the ancient crafters/builders do it without machines back then. Fantastic.
you can not do otherwise then admire work like that. :)
I think this is the first time you've shown us a round temple. Very different style! I'm much enjoying seeing all these lovely places through your camera's eye.
It would have taken me a very long time to place the circular temple in India. I have only visited India for 3 weeks, but the variety of culture was clear even in that short time.

Wonderfully intricate carvings. The Lord Shiva temple is so unusual, don't see many things in the round like that, the surrounding seem to accentuate it shape.
These architectural wonders are amazing, beautiful and Priceless. The people that take the time to Preserve these sites make life richer for everyone.
This is another one of those amazing posts. How the artisans did these carvings I will never know. I am absolutely in awe of works like these. Such a fascinating and gorgeous post. Wonderful.
