The Lalbagh Gardens at Bangalore is an important destination where one can find variety of flowers, fountains, trees. One of them is tree fossil.

Tree fossils are impressive. There are some spectacular ones near us, there's a national park dedicated to them.

Fascinating. We have a "forest" of fossilized trees in the western part of the U.S. I remember visiting The Petrified Forest as a child and buying a small piece for a souvenir...don't know what happened to it, though.

This is a grand tree fossil, unlike the ones i seen in Ooty and childrens park here. I have been to lal bagh, but i miss checking this.
Oh it must have been a very huge tree. I prefer that this is displayed inside a covered area or a museum, so the elements and rain will not erode it slowly, that it can still last for longer time!

That is a huge piece of petrified wood. We saw many smaller pieces of petrified wood in our Petrified Forest National Park this past June.
