Sinhagad is an important fortress located at a distance of 30 kms from Pune. The fort is perched on an isolated cliff of the Bhuleswar range of the Sahyadri Mountains.
During our excursion to this fort in the picturesque location, we were dumbstruck by the beauty of the surroundings. I had least idea I will be able to see any birds at a such height. Suddenly we saw a small bird flying around.
It sat on the branch of a isolated leafless tree extending out from the edge of the hill where the fort was located. I was more than happy to snap it.

Do you think that the bird was a "tourist bird"? :)

I get kind of queasy when up that high but it certainly gave you a grand view. Nice shot of the bird, too!

Amazing to find such a small bird at such a great height! You would think that only the big guys nested there! Stunning views!

Beautiful topography. The fort has interesting history. The bird looks like a Bulbul.

Great views. Birds seem to be everywhere!
What beautiful captures of nature...the bird photo is beautiful, and the tree, so barren, yet so lovely.
Great rugged landscape!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
What a magnificent vista! I'm glad the bird cooperated with you to have its picture taken!
A wonderful landscape to see..
Wow, you were up very high. The dead branches look like the only place for the bird to take a good rest and pose for you. :)
Thank zou for sharing it, we so seldom see birds from the Sub-Continent. Lovely country as well.
Thank you all. It was a nice experience.
In the most unexpected places! What a view!
Very majestic view. It looks like the bird enjoyed the spot too!
It's a Red-vented Bulbul and Sinhagad valley is home to lots of species and those mighty raptors too :)
