Bhedaghat by the side of river Namada is a place known for beautiful Dhuandhar Falls. Here the Narmada river, while making its way through the marble rocks narrows down and plunges over the rocks making a powerful roar and smoking cascade.
Water falling from a height of 150 ft generates great noise with water sprinkles. It looks like a white smoke or fog. Hence the name Dhuandhar (Smoky) Falls.
The impact of the natural splendor while reaching the ground, the affinity of the falling river is a charming cascade. This place remains closed during monsoon season for general public i.e. from July to end of September month.

This is a very spectacular waterfall. Thank you for sharing it with us.
It is just beautiful. I love waterfalls. The most impressive I've ever seen, thus far, is Iguazu Falls, on the Argentinian
Brazilian border.

Wow - what impressive and lovely falls! Magnificent.
Wonderful falls! Amazing sight. I was last there in Dec 2007.
The Dhuandhar Falls can be likened to the Niagara Falls (and I can say this positively, having seen both).
Beautiful photos. The current looks scary.
such beautiful waterfall.

Power packed falls!!
Such power in such beauty! The noise must be quite deafening.
nice shots!!!!
i have heard a lot abt the falls from freinds and especially my bro who had visited it some time backk....
I used to live near Niagara Falls, USA... but this sight took my breath away. No commercialization around it, simply nature at its most powerful. Perhaps the monsoon season is in its own way a gift, if only to spare you the T-shirt vendors and other $$ hawks...
Lovely, and I found you on ABC Weds. Thanks, and my take is below. Peace!

Amazing and powerful. They gave it the right name. It does look like smoke. I can imagine how wild the falls must be during monsoon season.

The Waterfall is very beautiful and so grand looking, I never knew that India had waterfalls. I also like your blog.

The Dhuandhar Falls in Bhedaghat is a well known sight where one witnesses beautiful scenery and complete tranquility. The beautiful falls is rough yet calm, soft yet loud and undoubtedly breathtaking.
I love waterfalls, beautiful shots Rajesh, and I like the sepia tint too:)
Meow!
Very pretty water!
But being a cat means not being so keen on water. I'll keep my distance!
Nice post for D, though.

Thanks to all this powerful and beautiful water falls.
Beautiful Falls -- snd an appropriate name for sure! I kind of "collect" waterfalls -- we've always tried to visit any that are in the area when we're traveling -- and now I love taking pictures of them. Thank you for sharing this beautiful trip.
I believe it is one of the best rafting and picnic spots, we missed it. Photos are little dull maybe taken in rainy season or cloudy atmosphere.
