Peshwa Museum, Pune

Peshwa Museum in Pune is on Prvati Hill adjacent to Parvati Temple. For people who are interested in history and want to know about Peshwa rulers a visit to the museum is a must.

On the hill top a palace was built by Shrimant Peshwa in the year 1795. Part of the Peshwa Palace has been converted into museum.

At the museum on display are the items belonging to Peshwa era. Here there are paintings of all Peshwas, Maratha Sardars along with the arms, manuscripts, coins and other articles which were in use in those days. Photography inside the museum is not allowed.

A glimpse of interiors can be seen from the entrance.

This doesn't look quite as ornate as some of the other palaces you've shown, but it's still impressive by my standards.

I want to see the paintings upclose. If these are centuries old, these are really a must see. Thanks for sharing. :)

This must be an incredible place. I understand that photography is not allowed in museums, but sometimes that is a great shame, don't you agree.,))

Such an interesting place. Too bad about the photography. I really don't understand how taking a few photos inside of a museum can damage anything!

You did a pretty good job of peeking inside the doorway -- thanks for sharing! Sounds like the tour of it was a great learning experience.
