Royal Cenotaphs of Orchha

In Orchha there are around fourteen cenotaphs (chhatris) of 16th century along the Kanchana Ghat of the Betwa river.

They are the tombs erected for rulers of Bundelkhand in their memory. We have already seen them in earlier posts( 1, 2). Here are some more images of these magnificent structures.

So much to experience and see and wonder in India. If I was a genie I would blink myself there in a minute.

When I think of a tomb, I think of a small cave or small dwelling. Then I look at your blog and have to change my way of thinking. These are all quite incredible. I can't help but wonder, though, if they really deserved such honoraria? :-)
