Birds in Neighbourhood - 2

I am the few of the fortunate who occasionally get to see few birds of different variety around my house in Bangalore. I have captured few of them in my camera and here they are.

One such beautiful bird is Red-whiskered Bulbul

This bird is about 20 centimeters in length with brown upper-parts and whitish underparts. It has a tall pointed black crest, red face patch. The tail is long and brown with white terminal feather tips, but the vent area is red.

They are found mainly in tropical Asia. It feeds on fruits, nectar and insects.

I've never seen this beauty before! What an incredible, wonderful species.

You should consider adding this link to the Bird D'Pot meme that opens today at noon Texas USA time zone. It'd be a super addition for all us avid birders who share images of birds! The link to the meme's site is on my right sidebar "I'd Rather B Birdin"

I was going to say this is a very beautiful bird but one with which I'm not familiar. You're lucky to have such avians in your yard!

An attractive bird - on first glance I thought the crest on the bird's head was it's top beak and that it had it's mouth wide open: silly me! Great captures. (Thanks for visiting my blog)

Thanks for refreshing my fond memories with these lovely pics. I had recently penned down my childhood experiences with a family of Bulbuls- http://aamjunta.wordpress.com/2014/03/17/an-indian-summer-with-the-bulbuls/
