Yellow Wagtail at Diu

During our visit to Diu, we came across many colourful birds. Our trip was made memorable by the presence of beautiful birds. One such colourful bird we saw was Yellow Wagtail

It is a slender approximately 16 cm long bird, whose body is olive above and plumage yellow below and on patterned edges of wing-feathers.

The heads of breeding males come in a variety of colours and patterns depending on subspecies. It has a long tail that is constantly wagging.

It eats insects and other invertebrates, foraging on the ground and in the air.

Very pretty, Rajesh.

Always nice to see such bright yellow color (we have a Goldfinch that provides it around here.)
